33 Export

Jiji is an African online marketplace that provides buyers and sellers with an avenue to meet and exchange goods and services.

It is in the top 3 e-commerce platforms in Nigeria, alongside Jumia and Konga.

Task

Run brand awareness campaign both online and offline, with the aim to drive buyer to the website. The major focus is audience in the capital of Nigeria-Abuja who shop online, but are not satisfied with such type of shopping due to main inconvenience it cause. People who don’t shop online at all, but they do know all the advantages and disadvantages of offline shopping. Overall we need to increase talkability of Jiji, and motivate them to try the platform.

01 // Project overview

Modern and
cutting-edge approach
for creating digital.

The project included deliverables for out-of-home, Digital ads and campaigns, and physical activation for the brand. While jiji has existed for years and is used by the people of Abuja state Nigeria, they have not officially gained a foothold in the state as people only depended on word of mouth. The task was to analyze the target audience, speak of the natives of Abuja and figure out how to best communicate with them.

02 // Challenges

The brand new system, made from scratch.

  1. Trust in online shopping was at a low as people sometimes get  what they never ordered for
03 // The Process

33 EXPORT 3D BOTTLE

This project is the final series of the packshot recreation for 33 export. 2 months i took it upon myself to recreate the packshots of 33 export so as to extend my freedom when creating design for the brand as i am the Art director in charge, and i started from the goblet which was all done procedural on blender and then the crown cork which was also done procedural, now i probably would have decided to do the bottle procedural also except it had been tried by a former employee in my agency who has years of experience when it came to 3D design ahead of me and it didn’t come out as expected so i decided to take a different approach and use the textures currently being used by the brand and created my own texture that could fit…….so here we go.

Now, this is where the magic started happening. Given that the texture created in Photoshop didn’t have a complete 180-degree angle and also that it was a flat plane wrapping itself on a 3d plane and lastly the loss of geometry after remodeling the bottle, rather than adding the texture created in Photoshop directly I instead painted over the texture on the blender to the 3D bottle, this way it would cover room for the places the texture couldn’t reach and thereby fixing my problem.

BEER GOBLET

The aim of this project was to create a realistic goblet packshot for 33 which will be used in their designs in other to allow more dynamism by using different 3D projected view, and a total of 1 week was spent going over and over again making sure it was realisitic enough.

One of the challenges i had was the transparency of the cup which made it realistic was also dependent on the back that it was rendered in that made it realisitic, hence that means i could only get the realisitic details only if was rendered in jpeg and not in png, and i needed it in png, that was where the biggest challenge was but glad i could solve it.

BOTTLE COVER

So for a very long while I have always wanted to model the 33 export bottle to absolute realism, I have fondled with a lot of tutorials, and blogs, and looked at people’s work but yet I still am not confident I can do it but given I successfully modeled the goblet and now the crown cork I feel like soon everything will be in place, so, for now, I am moving from the bottom up, now see the process in which this was created.
